It’s recommended to use theDisillusionmentspell, which will allow you to get close to the beast without scaring them. This will enable you to get close enough to check if a beast is shiny. A shiny beast is indicated by thestar/+ symbolnext to the gender icon.

How to find shiny beasts in Hogwarts Legacy
Finding a shiny beast is, unfortunately,down to luck. We recommended regularly checking Monster Dens for different beasts in hopes of a shiny spawning. It is unclear what the specific spawn percentage rate of a shiny beast spawning is; however, they spawn relatively often if you spend time searching.
Capturing shiny beasts is the same process as capturing regular beasts, except they are often harder due to their shiny status.
