Players wanting to catch this Pokémon may still have a hard time, however, as its spawn rate is still extremely low.
How do you catch a shiny Pumpkaboo in Pokémon GO
Pumpkaboo will be available, with its shiny form catchable, in the Wild during the upcoming Halloween celebration. This time around, Pumpkaboo will have an exclusive costume on as well, making the shiny even rarer. Outside of this event, players can usually find Pumpkaboo closer to Halloween during in-game events and celebrations.

Pumpkaboo is also a special case in Pokémon GO, as it has multiple different size variations as well, making catching them all nearly impossible in one seasonal event. The shiny form of this Pokémon changes to a deep purple color, making it look somehow more fitting to its Halloween aesthetic. The shiny forms are not usually boosted for Pumpkaboo, and at the time of writing there has not been a Pumpkaboo Community Day. When normally encountered, players will have a nearly one in 500 chance of being shiny.
