TheWork Ordersystem, introduced at the beginning of World of Warcraft Dragonflight, is a system that seeks to encourage player interaction when it comes to the crafting and economic side of WoW. With Work Orders came a massive overhaul to every profession in the game, redesigned to work in correspondence. However, because of the nature of Work Orders and the professional overhaul, there may be some confusion about how it works together. Fortunately, we’ve spent enough time with the new system to be of service. Here’s everything you need to know about Work Orders in Dragonflight.

What is the Work Orders System in Dragonflight?
There are many moving parts in the Work Orders system, so we’ll break each part down so that each piece is simplistic to understand. Some parts are easier than others, so we’ll prioritize the important points so that the finer details are just that: details.
Interacting with Work Orders requires you to either be thecrafterorreceiver.Crafters are those that have a profession and are willing to produce crafted items from the said profession. Receivers are looking to obtain an item crafted by a profession. Accessing Work Orders is different depending on these two factors.
Work Orders as a Crafter
As a Crafter, you will always access Work Orders from yourProfession Tablelocated in Valdrakken. This is also where you’ll craft your most difficult recipes. In the same menu as your crafting recipes, there should be a tab at the bottom called Crafting Orders. Clicking this tab will allow you to see your recipes still but also give access to three additional tabs at the top of the menu:Public, Guild, and Personal.
Regardless of the type, should you decide to accept a Work Order, you will have a specific amount of time to fulfill it, typically five days. In addition, the receiver that sent the Work Order can cancel it anytime they wish, so it is in your best interest to do so promptly.
Work Orders as a Receiver
As a receiver, you will always request work via Work Orders from the Work Order hub located in Valdrakken. Speaking with a Crafting Orders NPC will open the Crafting Orders menu. Here you can search for any craftable and tradable item that can be made by a player and place an order for it. Receivers can place three orders:Public, Guild,andPersonal.
Unlike Crafters, Receivers dictate whichmaterialsare used for the requested craft and add additional regents to the order to improve the result. For personal orders, receivers can request the crafter use some of their materials, but we don’t recommend doing this as you may not get the item you desire.
Receivers also have the ability to add a Commission to their orders, allowing you the ability to effectively tip other players for their services. You can also adjust the duration of the Work Order itself. Note that this differs from the timeframe granted to a Crafter once an order has been accepted.

Public vs. Personal Work Orders
There is a significant, important difference between Public and Personal Work Orders: the amount of control you have over the craft itself. When placing a Public work order,you cannot dictate the quality of the item requested. However, when using a Personal work order, you may. For this reason,we recommend you never use Public work orders. Regardless of the materials you submit to the work order, anyone that can craft your requested item at any quality range can craft it as a Public work order. This is not the case if you set the requested quality during a Personal order.
