The bug has instilled a widespread fear of powering on the game only to find all information has been erased from existence. However, whenever there’s a bug, there’s usually some sort of fix. Unfortunately, there is no way to fix the glitch on your own. You can try to reset your internet or turn your gaming hardware of choice on and off, but ultimately, you will need to support of Bungie by speaking with them on theirBungie Help siteor by posting in theDestiny 2 Reddit forum. A community manager will reach out to you to follow up on the steps necessary to begin the time-consuming process of restoring your character.
It is incredibly important to note that you must not attempt to make a new character during this period of time. This could accidentally erase the ability for Bungie to restore your previous character and ruin all of your hard work. If you’re afraid of logging into your account only to be faced with the worse, then we would recommend switching to disposable loadout before logging out next time. That way, you won’t need to worry about losing any of your rolls because everything is stored in your vault.
