Tips on fighting Insects in Fallout 76
To most efficiently fight insects in Fallout 76, we recommend having an Exterminator perk, which makes your attacks ignore the 25% armor of any insect you encounter. For additional effectiveness, you can add Exterminator’s legendary effect as well. Certain weapons are especially effective against insects, like a Bug Grenade. This weapon deals increased damage against Insect opponents and damaged them over time.
Insects come in various shapes and sizes. This will determine your strategy when fighting them. Some are small and have little health, like Ants and Bloatflies. These are more easily dispatched with a VATS system and an accurate weapon. Others, like Honey Beasts, are huge, with a health pool to match. These lumbering monstrosities have slow but powerful attacks that do crippling damage, especially if they lock you in a stagger. The best approach against such opponents is treating them like any giant creature in the Wasteland. Use your most powerful weapons and explosives to dispatch them quickly.
