Across the Wilderness is a Genshin Impact event taking place fromJanuary 3,2023,to January 13,2023. This event is hosted by the Monstadt Adventurer’s Guild and involves various parkour challenges where you must collect Wilderness Balloons within a time limit. It can be played in single-player andCo-op modes, so make sure to invite friends to join in on the fun.
How to unlock the Across the Wilderness event in Genshin Impact
To play Across the Wilderness, you must complete the following prerequisites:
All eligible players will get an Event Quest calledAcross the Wilderness, which involves speaking to Vinkel in Monstadt. After the short dialogue, you can begin playing the event challenges.

How to complete Across the Wilderness event challenges in Genshin Impact
Before starting, make sure to equip theWilderness Compass, which can be found in the Gadget Inventory. Head to the event area, which is marked with a balloon icon in the World Map and mini-map. Then interact with the signboard beside Vinkel to startMatch Preparation. Since the event is single-player by default, you mustinvite friends to your Worldbefore starting a challenge to turn it into a Co-op experience.
Before starting, verify toConfigure Skills. These can be used in the event area by activating the Wilderness Compass. When you’re ready, click Start to be teleported to the event area. You’ll get an overview of all the Balloon locations before the timer starts.
The challenge is simple: You need to collect all of the Wilderness Balloons before the timer ends. You can use character quirks, Elemental Skills, and Elemental Bursts to make the collection process easier. The purple ones are calledHarvest Balloonsand will spawn based on the event objective.
Meanwhile, orange ones are calledSonar Balloons. Picking one up will prompt various Harvest Balloons to spawn within the vicinity, making it easier to collect them. Keep in mind that the total number of Harvest Balloons will not increase. For example, if the objective is to collect 40 Balloons, then only 40 will spawn throughout the challenge. Once you’re done, you can claim rewards from the event menu.
