Tera Shards can only be gained as a reward for defeating Raid Battles at three star levels and higher. The higher the difficulty of a Raid that you challenge, the more chances you’ll have at obtaining multiple Tera Shards as a reward. Remember, the type of Tera Shard you’ll obtain corresponds to the Tera Type of the Pokémon you are facing. The typical wild type of Pokémon you are facing does not factor in. To change a current Pokémon’s Tera Type, you’ll need to gather 50 Shards of the Tera Type that you’d like to change a Pokémon too.
