How to turn food into furniture in Disney Dreamlight Valley
While the game will not explain it to you, you’re able to use almost any item from your inventory, including food and crafting materials in furniture mode by dropping it on the ground first. To do so, open yourInventorymenu, then select whatever item you want to place as a piece of furniture. If the drop down menu has the optionDrop, select it. You’ll see the item drop at your feet.

From there, open up yourFurnituremenu, then collapse the menu by using the prompted button next to the center,left arrow(on PC this isF) Your cursor will become a hand which you can then use to move any item that you dropped on the ground: food, fish, gemstones, you name it.
