In just about every mainline Pokémon game released for the Nintendo Switch, fans have had the ability to snap photos using photo mode. That isn’t any different in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet! This time, you do need to wait a bit after the initial start of the game, but you’ll soon have the ability to do so, among a few other things. When you reachPoco Path Lighthouseshortly after beginning the game, you’ll have the ability to choose from a few new things to do.

If you pressDownon the d-pad after speaking withNemonaat the top of the tower, you’ll have access to the game’s photo mode. Photos can be taken using the front lens of your Rotom phone or by taking a selfie of yourself and the things going on behind you.

Getting to use photo mode in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Photo mode is a pretty easy feature to maneuver. There are a few things you can do in this mode including choosing your preferred emotes and poses. There are even different filters you can choose from to make your photos really pop. It is important to note that because the photo button is the same as the screenshot button, you will need to select the Hide Guide option by selecting theAbutton. This will hide all of the regular photo mode features so that you can take a photo!
