You’re in luck if you have extra controllers for your Nintendo Switch system. Fire upPokémon Scarlet or Violetas you usually would, thenturn on your extra controller. It will attempt to register then stop, and you won’t see any indicator lights on, but try pressing theleft joysticksof both controllers together at an angle, and you’ll notice a significant increase in speed.

This is likely an unintentional glitch, as a commentator on the original Reddit post explains. The game may be accidentally adding the input of both joysticks together. This ‘cheat’ seems to be limited to diagonal running, as the increased speed is not noted while player input is directly on an axis (pushing the joystick directly forward or backward.) If you try this, your results may also vary depending on your brand of controllers.
